The Program Office is pleased to recognize Dr. Patricia Schöppner, project coordinator for ABE Germany. Patricia joined the ABE program in June 2017, and has been busy expanding the German program ever since. She has developed great examples of modern biotechnology that can be implemented in the classroom.

Patricia also implements a regional training concept and works with teachers on site in schools. Thus, teachers are able to see potential implementation difficulties (and plan for them) right in their classrooms. Since Patricia joined the program, 306 biology teachers have implemented ABE in their classrooms, and 3,768 students have benefited from the program.

A biochemist, Patricia stands out for her excellent subject knowledge and comprehensive teaching skills. She inspires the team and the teachers working with her with her great ideas, enthusiasm, and personal commitment. We look forward to the future with her in the ABE program!
